8 Most Gratifying Super Auto Pets Experiences

Super Auto Pets is a game that needs little introduction to its millions of fans and chances are if you play video games, watch streamers on Twitch, or follow any gaming YouTubers then you’ve almost certainly heard of it.

And there’s really good reason for that. While I’m not usually all-in on really simple games or auto battlers, this game is wonderfully addictive. Not because it is designed to trip all your dopamine sensors, but because it is genuinely an exceptional game.

Simple but good-looking: the title page reflects the rest of the game.

#1: Busting a Summon Build with a Single Hippo

One thing you figure out pretty quickly is there are two kinds of players who play Super Auto Pets:

  • Players who are slaves to the meta and build summon teams every single time
  • The majority of players who hate dealing with annoying summon builds all the freaking time

Which is why when you put together a team that doesn’t just handle a dangerous summon build, but absolutely decimates it — that’s a great experience.

Seriously, it’s a probably unhealthy amount of joy coming from schadenfreude, but anyone who has played Super Auto Pets for any amount of time understands this feeling well.

When the frustration gets flipped around — it’s just outstanding. Create a Mega-Hippo. Eat an entire summoning party. It’s great :)

Yup, that’s the type of hippo that will wipe out an entire opposing party for fun.

#2: Sniping a Turkey or Fly in the Beginning of a Match

You think you have a pretty good team, you took some early bumps but the scaling pieces are in place…and then you see the dreaded fly. The dreaded turkey. Or even both.

And there comes that feeling, that drop in the pit of your stomach. Because they’re going to super-boost that opposing team to beat you.

Then the Dolphin chooses it’s target…and it turns out that fly or turkey had the lowest number of hit points. With one snipe, you’ve wiped out the other team’s ability to win.

A good summon team is like a puppet master controlling all the puppets, and sniping that fly or turkey is like breaking the hand.

There are few better feelings in Super Auto Pets than sniping the puppet master of a summoning build.

#3: Getting a Meme Team to 7-Wins

Look, teams made of all birds or all fish or all water animals aren’t built to win. But they are sure are fun for a goof. Meme teams can be a lot of fun, and as the screenshot below of my team “The Innocent Hikers” shows, it can be hard to reach.

Especially when the first two shops are begging me to make a meme run. And me being me…yeah we’re going to push this as far as it can go!

I didn’t choose the meme life, the meme life chose me.

#4: Finally Seeing a Sloth

Yes, they do exist, and it is an awesome experience to catch one. The best part? That might be the best description of a character I’ve ever seen in a video game.

He believes in me! Based on how the rest of the run went he really shouldn’t have but still a nice gesture!

I saw my first one at 90-some hours, and my second at 125 hours. And yes, I drop all team plans to try to get a winning team with a sloth.

Have yet to pull that one off, but here’s to hoping!

#5: Running a Blowfish-Hedgehog Team

Look, this is just fun. It isn’t a team built to make a serious run, it’s a team that can snipe some early to mid-game wins and is built to cause chaos more than anything.

The damage, more damage, and even more damage for everyone build of this team is utter chaos, especially on high speed.

I absolutely love it and will play knowing there’s a pretty hard cap on wins, but it’s just so enjoyable that most of the time I don’t even care.

If you haven’t experienced this, give it a shot. Two blowfish, three hedgehogs, and some mushrooms if you get lucky, and then enjoy the utter chaos that follows.

#6: Run a Mushroom Scorpion + Mushroom Deer

A mushroom scorpion is the best workaround to melon armor. A mushroom deer means not only does the bus pop up, but so does another deer…who brings another bus when damaged.

These are special levels of chaos that can also be a really effective way to anchor the front of a strong team.

You know you’re getting a reaction from the other team and if you get lucky in your draws and have the right support units, you might even pull of a full 10-wins like I did with the admittedly very bizarre team below.

And with a little luck and the right supporting team, you can even ride this to victory. The picture is appropriately title “I’m a Bad Man.”

#7: Get Your First 10-Win Run

When you’re learning the game, it is surprisingly challenging. Even once you know the game it gives a good challenge — there’s a reason many streamers set 7 wins as the mark for a “win” if they’re doing the Twitch casino points thing.

That first time you manage to get all ten wins in one run, it’s a great feeling and you know you’ve earned it. If you haven’t experienced that yet with this game you can be excused for running a turkey-fly summon build with a honey badger at the end.

That one, and only one, time.

#8: Get a Unit People Don’t Scale to 50/50

Ever seen a 50/50 deer or scorpion? I spent WAY too many hours chasing this, and even threw away some really good engines when an unusual shop gave me that opening, but it was worth it…and the amazing screenshots that follow.

In this game I had an early level 2 deer and level 2 monkey…and I couldn’t resist. Even managed one of my latest wins with this ridiculousness, which was just amazing.

A 50/50 deer is just wrong and I love it.

Make Your Own Super Auto Pets Hit List

If you’ve hit all eight of these then you know the fun that Super Auto Pets has to offer and how a game that is so simple on the surface can keep people coming back for hundreds of hours.

If you haven’t played it yet, I strongly recommend giving it a try! It’s recently been released for IOS and is free to play. If you’re a bit intimidated, feel free to check out this extensive Beginner’s Guide to Super Auto Pets I wrote on my gaming site.

Hope to see you, and your new crazy builds, soon!
